A L'Olivier

The first samples of oils we received from M. Blanvillain in 1988 included delicious olive and nut oils as well as the more obscure L’huile de Tortue which never made it onto our list.

A L’Olivier is a family run business with a history spanning generations. Founded by Eugene Popelin who had a love of nature and curiosity for the incredible aromatic richness of plants. He explored the countries in the search for new aromatic plants to inspire and vibrant flavours what would give a new least of life to every dish.

Quickly, their brand became synonymous with high quality olive oils, and their range remains firm favourites amongst both home cooks and professional chefs today.

In 2025 the company was bought by Jean-Pierre Jouve and his company, French Mediterranean Gourmet. They have a clear mission – celebrate and promote a sustainable Mediterranean diet worldwide by elevating these products to be the best examples of healthy, natural and gastronomic excellency. This is evident to see with the increase in quality that we are seeing, as well as with the new products that they are creating.
